Home Protection

The Primary Protection for home security is called Perimeter Protection. This form of security protects all accessible windows and doors from intrusion by opening. This protection is accomplished with the use of magnetic alarm contacts. Pro-Tech Security uses hidden  contacts that cannot be detected by visual inspection, in most cases. The reliability of the contact switches has been proven so reliable that the same contacts are used for Heart Pacemakers.

Perimeter Protection also includes large panes of glass that can be easily broken and stepped through. Pro-Tech accomplishes this protection with the use of a special device called an audio discriminator. Audio Discriminators are electronic microphones that listen for the sounds associated with broken glass. They are the size of a light switch plate and fit flush to the wall. They blend with all decors and are hardly noticed. Audio Discriminators can cover areas up to 50 square feet.

The second level of home protection is Interior Protection.  This protection is achieved within the inside of the home being protected by the use of motion detectors. Interior protection is primarily used as a back up (fail-safe) for Perimeter Protection. The motion detectors are automatically deactivated when you are home, so that you may move freely about the house while the perimeter and glass is protected. Don’t be concerned about the family pets. We have special motion detectors that will allow a 60 pound animal to walk past them without tripping the alarm.

Another added feature that is part of all our security systems, is that we not only install a burglary alarm, but fire protection as well: The installation of smoke and heat detectors is done as a 24 hour zone, which means that the fire security is always working – whether or not the alarm is set!

Another feature of our systems is the inclusion of panic buttons for police, fire and medical emergencies.

All equipment installed by Pro-Tech is Underwriters Laboratory listed and tested before and after installation.
